No spice here. Just an adorable romance that almost anyone can read. Most commonly seen in YA, closed-door, or “sweet” romances. Katherine Center is a popular steamy author.

🌶️

Things are starting to heat up. You’ll get your open-door sex scenes, but they don’t go into detail. There’s plenty of sexual tension leading up to one or two scenes. Try A Flame of Wrath & Flame by K.A. Tucker.

🌶️🌶️

You’ll get a handful of descriptive scenes with mild language. Again, you’ll get your fill of sexual tension. Think Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

You’re spicy scenes are getting explicit! The MCs are getting naughty and descriptive. I’d recommend Lauren Blakely and C.R. Jane.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Now, we’re getting into multiple explicit and detailed scenes. Most books with a why choose trope fall into this category. The author has found a balance between plot and spice. The majority of spicy scenes won’t further the plot, but they’re fun to read! Check out Tate James.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Lots of kinks and so much sex. You may or may not find a plot in this category, but you will find very explicit, descriptive scenes. If this sounds like your kind of book, you’ll love Court of Nightmares by K.A. Knight and Vengeful Gods by Elliott Rose.

DNF

Me and this story just did not mesh. I really struggled to pick up the book and was not enjoying reading. If I DNF a book I will not write a review. I only recently started DNFing and it has been so good for my mental health.

This book had some problems. Whether their grammatical errors, a lot of plot holes, or problematic characters, I will not be recommending this book to readers.

⭐⭐

I finished the book and was left unsatisfied. While there may be some bright spots in the story, it also lacked something(s) that would prevent me from recommending this book.

⭐⭐⭐

It’s not a bad book but it’s not a great book – It was average. I would recommend this books to specific readers based on tropes, MCs, and overall storytelling.

⭐⭐⭐.5/.75

It was an enjoyable read, but it lacked some characteristics that would have made it stand out. : Don’t get me wrong, it was fun while it lasted. It felt like rereading an average book instead of a brand-new story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really enjoyed reading this book! The author created a solid story, there was palpable chemistry between MCs, and I was able to connect with certain elements of the book. This is a book I will recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/.75

This book is so close to perfection but was missing a certain detail or two that would have made it the perfect read. I enjoyed my time reading this book and will recommend it to all readers.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Immediately on my reread pile. In most instances, I bought a physical copy to add to the trophy room. I am accepting no criticism of this book. This story was pure magic from start to finish. I fell in love with the characters and the chemistry made me blush. It has the perfect plot-to-smut ratio. I will recommend this book as often as I can.
