I am enjoying the Throne of Glass series a lot more than I expected. I have not been a big YA reader for years, but SJM has such a special way of storytelling you can’t help but be drawn in.
Throne of Glass is perfect for readers who enjoy YA fantasy, badass FMCs, and finding the courage to take your fate into your own hands.

I had high expectations going into The Devil’s Hunt, and E.L. Emkey did not disappoint. From immersive writing to chemistry so hot it will set you on fire, The Devil’s Hunt is a must-read for dark romance readers.
Mila Young, a St. Mary’s University student, enjoys her life. She’s an excellent student, has a part-time job, and doesn’t bother with parties. When her best friend Lacey drags her out to a bonfire, Mila’s life will never be the same.
Archer King is as close to royalty as one can get at St. Mary’s. He’s absolutely gorgeous and has women throwing themselves at him left and right. But one raven-haired girl catches his interest at the bonfire, and his life becomes a little more interesting.
The Devil’s Hunt is perfect for readers who enjoy secret societies, unhinged MMCs, and their spice kinky.

BWBH Book Review:
I really wanted to like this book. I know, I know, not the best way to start a review, but hear me out.
I enjoy a good alien romance, but I need strong FMC for balance. Natalia (FMC) literally cries all the time and is super needy. I couldn’t relate to her, and it took away from the story at times. That being said, it’s not a bad alien romance; just be warned.
The Queen of Monsters is perfect for readers who enjoy virgin FMCs, stories based on mythology, and rejected mates overcoming a broken heart.

I read Sucker Punch in one sitting. This book pulled me in and kept my interest for the 4.5 hours it took me to finish.
Ari is such a strong, bada$s FMC, Lotto is the dominant daddy we all need, and you can’t help but fall for the hot mess that is Bones and Frankie.
Sucker Punch is perfect for readers who enjoy a steamy fighter romance, the love of a found family, and appreciate that sharing is caring.

Emma Fox created such loveable, relatable characters—you just want to squeeze them! Luna, Cameron, Alexsei, and Owen perfectly balance each other out in this relationship. The plot is your typical rom-com with a why choose spin, making it stand out.
Icing It is perfect for why choose readers looking for something more light-hearted with some sword crossing to top it off.

BWBH Book Review:
Although considered a dark romance, Then Hate Me was a nice breather from the darker elements of dark romance.
While I enjoyed Then Hate Me, I found the plot and characters to be predictable. Is it a decent read? Yes. Would I recommend it over other books on my read list? Probably not.
The Hate Me is perfect for readers who enjoy broody billionaires who can hold a grudge, an FMC with a stubborn streak, and a classic contemporary slow burn.

Alexander reaches out to Aarya to propose an arranged marriage that would be mutually beneficial to both parties. We have a marriage of convenience, only one bed, and opposites that attract. I don’t even know how to summarize the craziness that is The Trap by N.J. Weeks. The plot has such a unique premise – think Saw invades our dark romance favorites.
Raiden works for her cousin, who happens to run the mafia, as a honey trap. She meets Colson while acting as the girlfriend of his brother and crime lord, Brett. After Raiden gets what she needs from Brett, she disappears into the night. Colson isn’t happy with her quick exit and has a P.I. look into her. Once Colson finally tracks her down, he shows up at her house uninvited. Unbeknownst to him, he wasn’t the only house guest that night.

The instant connection between the four in and out of the bedroom makes them nearly inseparable until Lynx’s older brother, Bennett, finds out about Poppy and does a little digging. What he finds will change the dynamic between Poppy and the boys, turning her newfound family into a nightmare.
I went through a love-hate-love relationship with each of these characters throughout the story. Raiden, Lynx, Raiden, Flynn, and Bennett are loyal to one another so deep it’s a fault. After a close scare with Poppy, the boys finally realize she is just as much a victim as they are and plan to spend a lifetime making up for the bullying they put her through.
