The Boyfriend Goal Book Description:
A forbidden romance with my brother’s hockey teammate wasn’t on my to-do list when I moved across the country…
Neither was getting locked out of a friend’s place wearing next to nothing.
Or spending the night with the sexy stranger who rescues me.
But I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone so getting out of the rest of my clothes with him seems like a good way to start.
In the morning, I learn the filthy-mouthed man with the talented hands is not only the hotshot new hockey player on my brother’s team: he’s also – wait for it – my brand new roommate.
I’m a good student turned good librarian. A rule-follower. I’m not the kind of girl who does complicated flings. So we agree to another rule: friends-only.
It’s not easy though. Wes is bossy, flirty and generous.
He gives me rides to work.
Pitches in at my library’s fundraiser.
Takes care of me when I get hurt.
And looks at me like I’m the only one.
Soon, I’m falling hard for my brother’s teammate.
Especially when Wes comes to my door and tells me exactly how he’d like to break our rules.
Every single one.
“I start to punch in the code when my breath catches. Oh god. This is not a drill. Repeat after me. This is not a drill. Wesley’s in gray sweats and nothing else. This man is shirtless, and I’m just dead.”

The Boyfriend Goal Review:
Josie loves books, rules, and lists. The new librarian puts her passions to use at a local library in San Francisco. Although it’s a temporary assignment, she wants to enjoy her time in SF for the next three months.
Several years ago her favorite aunt passed away. Her aunt left her with a list of ten things she never regretted doing to help Josie get out of her comfort zone. The first item on the list calls for Josie to have a one-night stand with a stranger.
She runs into the perfect stranger on her first night in the city. Her time in San Francisco is starting with a literal bang.
This is my favorite Lauren Blakely book I’ve read to date.
It has everything you’d expect from this author including lovable, relatable characters, a plot that sucks you in, and dogs.
I have spent my last six years working in a library and I loved that Lauren focused on all the services libraries provide for their community. Libraries are so underfunded, yet they are an invaluable resource whether you’re a student doing a research project, a job seeker, or an unhoused individual looking for assistance. If you take away one thing from this review, SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY!
In addition to the ARC, I received an ALC (audio) and the narrators did not disappoint. Erin Mallon and Connor Crais delivered perfect performances of their characters. Thanks to them, Josie and Wesley jumped off the pages for me.
The Boyfriend Goal is perfect for readers who enjoy A filthy-mouthed hockey player, an FMC who is working towards her next evolution, and a story about love growing between two MCs that will get you giggling and (potentially) crying.
Thank you to Lauren Blakely and Good Girls PR for the ALC and ARC.
