My Pucking Mate Book Description:
When Leera Adams loses her parents months before starting college, the excitement of beginning the next chapter of her life is now shadowed with grief. Having grown up traveling the world with her photographer & journalist parents homeschooling her, she’s a little awkward and anxious to settle down in one place but vows to do her best to have a normal college experience. She never planned for him.
Roman Razboinic has lived through his father’s darkness, rebuilding the king’s werewolf army, and learning to play professional hockey. When in reality he feels like he died the day he lost his mate and their unborn pup. Every day, he’s just going through the mundane motions of taking care of his pack, his closest men, and playing hockey, until the time comes for him to fulfill his duty to his people. That is until an incredibly short and spunky woman throws his entire world off its axis.

My Pucking Mate Review:
I’ll start by saying this book was not what I expected. If you judge the book by its cover, you’d expect a rom com hockey romance. That is not the case.
We have Leera trying to navigate new adulthood while mourning the loss of the only two people she had in this world, her parents. On the other hand, you have a very dejected Roman who has lost his fight. While he hasn’t truly accepted his circumstances, he seems resigned to the idea he will be marrying India eventually.
Although the book had zero spice between the FMC and the MMC, I still enjoyed the story. I do, however, expect some high spice in book two. Roman strikes me as a dominant who likes getting his way.
There are two characters I could have done without – India and Roman’s dad. That’s all I will say about them.
My Pucking Mate is perfect for readers who enjoy a cliffhanger that will leave you clamoring for book 2, a broken MMC who rediscovers himself when he finds his mate, and are okay with no spice except a hate sêx scene between the MMC and his betrothed.
Thank you to Izzy Elliott for the ARC.
